Plattenspieler:innen
What happens when a piece of a star falls to Earth?
In “Plattenspieler:innen”, a mysterious being from outer space encounters a world that is constantly changing. Between past and future, nature and city, strangeness and familiarity, a poetic journey through time and space unfolds.
At the centre is HALLEY, a broken fragment of a comet that falls to Earth and encounters human beings as something unknown and otherworldly. Through a blend of time travel, live news formats, and staged scenes, the story of the district of Prohlis is told—from prehistoric times into the future. HALLEY becomes symbolically part of everything—a connecting element between people, times, and spaces.
Children and young people bring the story of a place to the stage together with music, dance, live film, and theatre—from its origins to a possible future. In the process, images emerge of encounters, transformation, and what connects people to one another.
An opera about curiosity, courage, and the question:
What does it mean to find a home?
